Something was brought back to my mind yesterday that I hadn't thought much about in a while. While riding to work, my bike started acting sickly. Hic-upping, burpping, farting, etc. May have even sneezed a few times. The problem was bad gas. Or, should I say, bad fuel. I pulled into the next gas station that I came to and put in half a bottle of STP Gas Treatment and topped off the tank with fresh fuel. Rode the last 45 miles to work without incident. On the way back home, I stopped again and topped off the tank and put the rest of the STP into the tank.
This same type of thing happened to me and my wife a few years back while on a road trip. Out in the middle of nowhere, of course, both bikes started acting funny. The only reason we got home under our own power was because of STP. With summer riding season being here, and road trips a plenty, make sure you have a bottle of STP with you, even if you have to duct tape it to your forks. You'll be glad to have it if you need it.
